Ahead of the Health Secretary’s speech on 8 March announcing a new vision for NHS reform, Jabeer Butt OBE, CEO of the Race Equality Foundation said:

“Health inequalities are often the elephant in the room when it comes to reform of the NHS. Repeated analysis has highlighted the cost to the NHS of health inequalities and COVID-19 has demonstrated the heightened risk these inequalities pose for Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.

“We look forward to hearing from Sajid Javid how the Government’s reform plans for the NHS will ensure that improvements in access to, and experiences of, health services impact Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.”
