The Race Equality Foundation, with a coalition of partners including the Muslim Charities Forum are hosting ‘Preventing Violence: Race, Gender and the Racist Riots.’

The second session in the four-part series ‘Responding to the Racist Riots.’ Four months after the racist riots that took place this August, this webinar series is an opportunity for key stakeholders to collaborate, reflect on the causes of the riots, and build lasting solutions that prevent racist violence.

In this second webinar, we will explore the riots as part of a broader trend of gendered and racialized violence, assess the limitations of punitive measures, and discuss how effective prevention of racist violence can draw on the strategies developed by organisations addressing violence against women and girls.

This session will be led by speakers from women’s voluntary sector organisations dedicated to tackling gender-based violence.

Be part of a thought-provoking exchange between key stakeholders, violence against women and girls organisations and panellists, who bring forward a range of perspectives and insights on these issues.
