Jabeer Butt OBE, Chief Executive of the Foundation, sat down with Denise Pringle, Survivor Participation Manager at The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA).
Jabeer is a member of the IICSA Changemakers cohort, a diverse group of 65 individuals and organisations. This cohort includes charities, support services, people with lived experience of child sexual abuse, and frontline groups dedicated to preventing and addressing sexual abuse.
All IICSA Changemakers members share a commitment to collaboration in driving meaningful change.
In a recent discussion, Jabeer highlighted the issue of adultification of young Black, Asian, and minoritised children, emphasising how racism influences the way their experiences of abuse are addressed. He pointed out that both racism and child sexual abuse are public health issues that need to be tackled together.
