A new report, commissioned by Clinks, from the charity Hibiscus outlines new research exploring the gendered experiences of Black, minoritised, and migrant women in contact with the criminal justice system.

Hibiscus’ research is based on focus groups and analyses of existing literature, evidence, and policies on the experiences of this group in the context of the impact of the pandemic. The report makes a number of recommendations: including strengthening the Female Offender Strategy Delivery Plan to better identify and support the needs of these women, and implementing a firewall to end sharing of victims’ and witnesses’ data between the police and Home Office for immigration enforcement.
