A webinar focused on addressing racial inequity in Covid-19 recovery and education
About this event
As we approach the ‘opening up’ of another lockdown and look towards recovery, how will the inequality that has been experienced by so many, especially black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, be addressed?
The Race Equity Collaborative project will build a narrative across eight collaborative areas focused on solutions regarding health and race inequalities. This is the first of two webinars seeking to influence the Covid-19 recovery plans for education.
Chaired by Tracey Bignall, Senior Policy and Practice Officer at Race Equality Foundation
Commissioned briefing paper presented by Professor Vini Lander of Leeds Beckett University
This webinar on education will:
• Present evidence about the inequalities experienced by black, Asian and minority communities during the pandemic.
• Hear different perspectives about the challenges faced by people from these backgrounds.
• Discuss and debate issues for policy makers to consider to ensure they address race and health inequalities experienced by black and minority ethnic communities in education.
Who should attend?
This event is of interest to policy makers, academics, practitioners across the voluntary and statutory sector, working to support black, Asian and minority ethnic families, and individuals from these communities.
