The Equality Duty Review report and case studies: Evidence of Equality Duty good and best practice

This report draws together 60+ examples showing how public sector bodies, voluntary and community sector organisations and individuals consider that the old equality duties have worked positively for them and bettered people’s lives.
These case studies have been drawn from a variety of sources:
- case studies published by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC);
- submissions to the Equality Duty Review;
- reports on progress in relation to the Equality Duty published by public bodies);
- other case studies based on published information in the public domain.
Like the EHRC and others, by sharing these examples we are not making a judgment about whether a particular public authority is meeting any or all of their legal obligations. However we, the Race Equality Foundation and ROTA, do note that the example was identified by a public body or another agency as a positive example of activity taken to meet the requirements of the public sector equality duty.
