Chief Executive, Jabeer Butt, said: “Black and minority ethnic people are more likely to

be detained under the Mental Health Act. They also have a poorer experience of care once they are admitted to mental health services.

We have yet to learn the lessons from deaths of Rocky Bennett, Orville Blackwood, Sean Rigg and Sarah Reed. This review needs to set out clearly how it will be different from those before, and government needs to commit to reform.
