Mayor’s Transport Strategy published
Recently the Race Equality Foundation contributed to a consultation on a transport strategy for London carried out by the Mayor’s office . The Mayor’s Transport Strategy has now been published. It can be found here.
This strategy provides a clear, long-term vision for the future of London. At its heart is the aim for 80 per cent of all trips in London to be made on foot, by cycle or using public transport by 2041.
Delivering this strategy will improve Londoners’ health and clean up the city’s air. It aims to ensure that everyone in London can have a good public transport experience, including enabling disabled and older people to get about independently and spontaneously. It also hopes to make sure that new homes and jobs for current and future generations are planned in places and ways that work for people.
