Communities against violence

What is Communities against violence?

Communities against violence is a coalition of black and minority ethnic voluntary and community organisations formed during the August riots.  Communities against violence seeks to not only understand the causes of the unrest, but also to use our shared experiences of working with some of the most deprived and poorly represented communities to:

  • limit the likelihood of future outbreaks of violence.
  • ensure our children and young people are safe and secure
  • address the economic and social challenges being faced by many in the areas experiencing the worst of the violence.
